I am thinking about buying one of those air beds that are double height because i have joint probs and think it would be easier to get in and out of.
Can anyone tell me how "wobbly" they are? On our normal one if one of us turns over the other gets wobbled about, so im thinking if its higher do they wobble to the point that you could fall off?
Ive got images in my head of hubby being launched off the bed
Hi Karen, I've got one, it's great, better than my bed at home. It inflates in two sections, you need a good pumb though, don't try to do it manually, you will be there all night. Ann
I have one of the Outwell "Excellent" King Size beds. It is not a true double height but it is a lot higher than a standard airbed. I bought mine as my wife tends to get back and hip problems sleeping on a standard air bed. This has made a world of difference - only £25 as well!
------------- Anything becomes a pleasure if one does it too often!
I have one like the one pictured above and would just reccommend that you check the height measurement as it was not as high as I would have liked and you can get higher ones.
hi we have the colman's comfort double height and the single height .same problem for us as the gentleman above double height will prob be to big for our 2 tents now . but to be honest the colman's comfort single height is just as comfy just another way off getting off roll off lol crawl on knees and up you get . and that's your work out done with lol. i dont mind really got used to it
We have the double/kingsize version of the colman double height and it is very comfortable. Very awkward to get into the tent pod though and we could only get in one side. Still at least we got a decent nights sleep and didnt ache in the morning. Still got it even though we have gone to a caravan as it makes a fantastic guest bed.
We recently bought one and it was like sleeping on a normal bed. Also nice and wide so no fighting for room!
I know they can be a problem getting into a tent, but we remedied that by extending the cable for our Coleman pump and inflating it in the tent pod. Alternatively obtain the rechargable version of the pump.
We cant wait to use ours next season. Although buying the big airbed did lead to us getting a bigger tent. (Coleman Canyon 8), well, you have got to spoil yourselves sometimes!
we got a bestaway double bed at a bargain price[so good we bought 2 !]like they have on price drop/bid up tv.It has a built-in pump if you are on ehu,or a normal port if you have big muscles to blow it up manually.once up it is quite sturdy but it takes up two rooms of our alaska 8.would recommend.
We have the Intex double height queen size bed and wouldnt now be without it, it does mean that we can only get around two sided of the bedroom because of its size but we are greedy and have a 8 man tent for just the two of us so there there is plenty of remaining room. We have ehu so pump it up in the bedroom as it wont fit in and out of the bedroom door opening inflated. We originally had a Czark Trail double airbed (just the standard thickness) and we felt like royalty on our first trip using the Intex, no more crawling on all fours in the morning trying to crick my back into place. I think ours was about £50 at the time but we have dogs that travel with us on every trip and we have never had a puncture and we really havent been that careful with it in hindsight. We stick one of those furry fitted kingsize sheets on it and it just about fits but it is pure indulgence for the nippy nights and mornings. I would definately recommend one and I know there are lots of brands doing them so I would advise you to just shop around.
