I have a Garmin i3 and it's great. Got me home in dire circumstances (lost miles from home in the dark, etc.) They can be updated from the net, and the after sales services at Garmin Europe is good too.
Sorry, we don't have the 760 but we have a Garmin nuvi 310, OH got it last Christmas. We use it all the time. Have used it in Scotland this past summer - only once did it take us up a very narrow road (with van) but we normally use maps in conjunction with it. We also use it for Geocaching - very effectively. We got the Garmin as we thought the maps for here in Northern Ireland and over on the mainland were better than some others and as this is where we mainly tow this influenced our decision.
Watching an advert on the TV for Halfords half price Sat Navs, I went into the store in Belfast to buy a Garmin 250w for half price..."Oh no, that has £20.00 off the regular price." "But it says 50% off all sat navs in the newspaper too. Ahh he says , look at the small print, "Up to all sat navs". I think this is very misleading! I think there was 2 or 3 types which were half price, but not the one I wanted. Just my luck.
