Have been looking at the Kipor suitcase generators with invertors on E bay, has any one used one of theese. The price seems good but are they?. I use solar panels in the summer, and thought a 1000W genny wood be OK for the winter months.
If its a Inverter genny you can connect them stright to your van with out using a surge protector as they produce 12 volts and then have an inverter built in which gives you a perfect 240 volts with no peaks or surges
Not too sure about the make but should be good just Google it

Bob. I had a Sealey catalogue sent to me at work in with some other gear I had ordered and they had identical looking gennies ( case, power rating, general blurb ) for £380.0 !!!. cannot endorse the ones from Sealy or on ebay but for the price!! ( did I see £185.0 ). Hell they are all from the same manufacturing plant and cost 23 quid to build anyway!!

Kipor seem to be good. They had a bit of trouble Mr Honda who took them to Court. Kipor got a spanking over some of their models. Whetehr or not they will stand the test of time, who knows? but they seem to be OK to me
Hi, My sister has one and they are a good piece of kit. Having the inverter helps protect the battery charger and many other appliances, As good as honda without the price tag but you do need to drain them when not being used for a while or the fuel goes stale and makes them run poorly.

I'd say that bit of advice could save a lot of problems rabb_uk - Good one
I have one of these and use it at Classic Car events where I know I will not upset anyone with noise in the late evening – it powers my lights and TV/DVD perfectly, but will struggle to run electric heating. It’s not totally silent, but compared to many bulkier generators I’ve seen, certainly a lot less noisy
I’m lucky as my fridge, heating and water are all gas, so I can reduce the strain on the genny and only use it for the mains electric – I’m now thinking about getting a solar panel but keep the Kipor as back up.
For info, it will run for about 5 hours on one fill of unleaded fuel and that includes the MH lights, awning lights and TV. I bought mine several years ago, an exact copy of the Honda type you are talking about at the MH and caravan show at the Excel Centre £299.00

Did you purchase the Kipor generator off Ebay. We have been looking at them but £199.99 from lathe-parts on ebay. We have been thinking of buying one because going away in May and no EHU on site. Also sometimes need electric when on hols and no EHU. How noisy are they?
we have one that looks exactly like the Kipor one. Got it off E-bay and it's brilliant, provides all the power we need together with our solar panel, perfect for rallies. A full petrol can will do us about 3-4 weekends depending on usage. Was on a week rally last summer and only needed to put it on once to charge the battery, as we didn't bother with the tv.
