Does anyone here have a a Camos 40cm sat dish on the roof of their van?
I have just tel a local dealership where I store the van a Lunar lexon CS 04 build, to ask if he could supply and fit one a camos for me.
He told me he would never fit a dome/dish to any van roof unless it is a Bailey Van because they are the only ones with bonded roof. (He is a Bailey/Sterling dealership). Motorhomes no problem but never to a Lunar Caravan
Question--------Does anyone have a Camos 40cm fitted on a van other than a Bailey and if so does it work OK without any damage to the roof. I don't want to spend a lot of money and find out it cannot be fitted because the roof is unstable.
thanks for any advice

Do you ned one that big JW? I have had the little square Caro fitted to my motorhome. Its small and neat and havent had any problem with reception anywhere in the UK. ( I havent taken it abroad yet but am told it will be fine around France for Astra 2 and possibly well into Italy or France).

cheers

John

I can't imagine that any normal caravan roof is stiff enough for a satellite dish!

....not just stress caused by weight and wind when stationary, what about wind resistance when towing - would this not put even more strain on the roof panelling?

Hi John
I am in North east Scotland, Aberdeen to be be precise and we need a fairly big dish up here I think standard size is about 60 cms. The weight of the Camos full unit is about 9kgs.
Take point made about large Air Con units
To be honest I am just totally fed up with a hit and miss trying to get a signal. So far I have two dishes three lnbs two tripods and goodness knows what else I have bought in the past couple couple of years trying to keep my wife and daughter up to speed with corrie eastenders and river city.
It was the wife who suggested I get a decent one fitted to save the hassle and frustration trying to get it set up. Strange thing is different places can lock on no problem at all and be up in running in minutes. At other times I have discovered that the tripod has to be set perfectly vertical before it can lock on. As I have said a real hit and miss
