It's the designation 'CAB-40B' or 'CAB-40' that tells you whether you've got the lower temp model or not. The 'B' version gets you to 20 deg below ambient, the non-B model to 30 deg below. Quoted electrical power consumption being 75W for the B and 100W for the other - I assume this is from warm.
The instruction book, which covers both models, strangely doesn't use either the words 'Mobicool' or 'Combicool'; it just says Waeco and the model numbers.
I picked up my "B" model from Riversway in Preston about 3 weeks ago. In store they are at £120 but after a slight hiccup they agreed to sell at their e-bay price of £100. I'd been looking for a while and jumped fast when I saw that price - I had not seen anything else within £20. I also confirm that they are brand new in un-opened boxes (at least mine was!) and in mint condition. The only slight downside being that you get their own "Riversway" logo on the front - for some reason I find it slightly irritating when shops do this.
First go was yesterday (mains powered), freeing up our main fridge and getting the beers ready for Christmas! In a centrally heated house it produced ice in the small tray provided with no problem. I must admit I was worried at first because I expected to hear a noise with it running - but the only external sign was that the back vent panel got very slowly warmer.
The majority if not all of my camping is likely to be in the UK for which I expect the B model will be fine. However I'd definitely have gone for the other one if intending to take it abroad.
