Just a quick one that hubby and i did last year.  We didn't have the space for a gas bottle in the car for the journey so we just bought it when we got to the site.  Yes you have to pay the deposit at first but when you go home, hand the bottle back and get your deposit back!  Thats the way we managed it!

there are plenty of camping gaz twin burner and grill units about - we have a tilley talisman MK6 - long out of production but similar around

Personally wouldnt use 907 cylinders as I find these expensive compared with calor cylinders when it comes to refills - most stoves will run on either propane (red cylinder) or butane (blue) we use propane for both BBQ and cooker and use a 6kg calor cylinder

As for carrying cylinder in roof box - they are a bit on the heavy side to get up there and will the roof and roof box take the weight ?

Well, hubby was recommended the campingaz party grill 1350w by someone at work and lent it to us so we could try it and we love it!. It's a stove and grill in one so it will save us space. We cooked our tea on it the other night and was brill. We will get a single burner as well so everything should be fine now. As the kids grow up we will probably need a larger cooker but for now this is ideal. Thanks for everyone's ideas and tips, we are grateful.
