This is a tough one.

I recently bought in a America a gas shower heater (£50), one end goes in a bucket, the other pumps out hot water - no more having to use large campsites with shower blocks.

I bought the gas can which is a Coleman 16.4oz / 465g Propane Gas Cartridge, however this is an american standard fitting and not uk.  Can anybody tell me where I gan get a connector to convert this?  I want to refill it from a larger bottle.

Any help gladly welcome

Hi antalp.

Is this the Zodi shower by any chance?? This is the one I have.

If it is, the only real way of using it in the UK is with the bulk gas kit.

If you need any more info, let me know

Apologies for not getting back earlier.

The bulk gas kit is a kit enabling you to connect the shower to any propane bottle

eg Calor Gas 6kg.

You can get the kits from HERE  (and all other spares you may need)

No problems ordering from this site even though they are in America. I bought my shower from them.

Hope this helps.

Really appreciate the help

I'm thinking if getting a zodi shower, how good are they? I have to go camping in france in Ocober with no facilities and would really like a half decent hot shower as we're there for 4 days. Is the Zodi worth the money?

Which gas cartridge is it exactly on socal? as I don't really want to start lugging big gas bottles with us

Many thanks

Hi just following up on this thread. Can anyone elaborate on how the bulk adapter linked up thread can be used with a calor bottle. Hubby says we would need to know what mbar the built in regulator on the Coleman propane bottles is.

For the avoidance of doubt this is my OH's logon.

Coleman sell these in the US giving them the option of using larger propane bottles instead of those disposable ones.

Hi sorry for the late reply, I only just got a notification. The gas bottles are on socal and Coleman seem to be introducing this line as standard in the UK so it should not be a problem.

To the question are these showers any good? I am not impressed with the single burner. You have to circulate the water via the pump for several minutes to warm the whole lot up. In which case why not just boil the water normally in a pot, add it to a bucket and use a normal electric cold shower pump which only costs £15.

I also had problems with the flame and in the end just mounted the whole thing on a butchered hob burner and 2.5kg gas can.

I do know zodi do the double burner version and I am sure that would work better.

I am not too sure about the connections as I never went through changing it.

Conclusion, simplest is best, bucket of hot water and sponge.

Thanks for quick reply ! I am not acutally asking iro the shower, we have a propane cooker and wanted to use a larger propane bottle instead of those disposable ones. As more of use buy the Perfectflow appliances I guess this will be asked more and more.

Yes the cartridges are now readily available, however it would make economic sense if the appliances could be used with a leger bottle e.g. a patio gas bottle.
