as anyone used a 12v hairdrier if so was it any good

I have but I have short, fine hair so no problem.  Used my gas hot brush afterwards.

We used to have one. It was quicker to get someone to physically blow the hair dry!

The 100W ones are useless and the 200W ones takes so much power that the on-board battery is flat in no time. By the way, 200W at 12v means 16.5 Amps, can you imagine the sort of cable that is needed to carry that sort of current. My advice is buy a 230VAC one. Sorry for being so negative.

If you have a lot of hair then don't bother but as others have said short hair isn't a prob.
