We are a retired couple looking to buy a caravan mover(NOT the jockey wheel type),  we need this, both having had hand operations recently and arthritis etc. We arevery active however and feel a mover would help us ( and save having to have another new clutch, having just had to have ours replaced!!) Cost would be the main thing, as we live on a very limited income. Any ideas anyone!!! Have been to dealers and find them off the map with prices. Anyone got a friend thinking of selling? We have a 2000 Eldiss Gulf Stream. Many thanks,

I looked at second hand ones a few months ago. I ended up baying an extra £50 for a new Powrtouch. This came with 5 year warranty and they did it on finance at a lower rate than my credit card. The second hand one only had 3 months warranty. If you are interested, Wizard has instuctions for getting the best deals on a new Powrtouch mover here

Did you see this one?

http://www.homesteadcaravans.co.uk/cart.cfm/startstring/false/id/1094

The prices for new ones this year are approaching the prices I got for secondhand ones last year

I wouldn't worry about anything other than price in guiding your choice, they rarely seem to break (so you might question the value of a long guarantee) and they all seem to work fine.

We are like you, older and arthritic, and our Enduro is one of the best buys we have made for the caravan.

PS. If you are at all handy, then fitting one yourself is pretty easy. You might need a hand from a couple of strapping blokes to lift it into position and bolt it on, but anyone should find the electrics an easy DIY job. The electrics take longer than the fitting. I fitted my own, although I had to spread liberal quantities of Fiery Jack afterwards

Hi, I recently tried to buy a Powrtouch 3 direct from Powrtouch but they refused to price match against an Enduro because theirs includes a 5 year warranty as standard and was not a like for like product against the Enduro. Hardly seems fair, just a way out of honouring their price match offer.

Given the number they have sold to UKCS members as a Price match against the Enduro, I wonder if they have found they cannot make a profit on them atthis price?

Did you mention UKCS to them?

I just ordered a Powrtouch mover with a price match but, as the Enduro only had a 2-year warranty, it did cost me another £95 for the extra 3-years to bring it up to their 5. They wouldn't do it without the extra 3 because then it wasn't a price match! A couple of days before I ordered it they said on the web site that price matching didn't affect their 5-year warranty but, by the time I'd got around to phoning, they'd changed their policy.

I'm still saving a good £400 though.

MOVER

It looks as though a RHYNO mover is a good alternative to the Powrtouch as they also have a 5 year guarantee, are made in England using a Brittish made motor, rated at 1800kg and are 8kg lighter.
