hi sorry probably really silly question but i am buying an awning that is for my bailey pageant. it is 1000cm. does the groundsheet have to be 1000 cm in lenghth too or slightly bigger. i know the width is standard 8ft but stuck over haw long to buy it

Hi

No the groundsheet needs to be slightly longer than your caravan, which if your awning is a 1000cm will be 16 - 20 ft ish.

thanks getting very confused. my caravan book says i need size 1008cm awning but awning sizes are either 1000cm or 1025cm. i assumed i would need the 1025cm but awning salesman says i need 1000cm. does this sound right i dont want it to be too tight that it rips or too baggy help

Mine says 973 so I got a 980 and it could do to be the smaller size, I'd take the salesmans advice.

You will probably be better off with the 1000cm awning as the 1025 is likely to be too big and you will have loads of fabric flapping about. Your groundsheet will need to be about 10cm longer than the body length of the caravan. The awning measurement is the total measurement from ground to ground from the front to back of the caravan following the awning rail.
