Pros - great looking maps, large screen, very cool looking, accurate (once locked on), click wheel

Cons - price, battery life, time to lock on, menus screens are not intuitive.

If you decide to go with the Colorado make sure you update the software and firmware as soon as you get it!

I was going to buy one until I became aware of several serious issues with the Garmin Colorado series. As some of them appear to be hardware related, they cannot be fixed with a firmware upgrade.

I opted for the GPSMAP 60CX model, which seems OK.

If you just want it for Britain, France, USA or New Zealand I think you'll find Memory-Map software running on a Pocket PC will be vastly superior. Garmin's UK TOPO map which, like Memory-Map is based on Odrnance Survey mapping, is pretty useless as it's missing loads of information compared to Memory-Map.

Another excellent option for Great Britain Pocket PC compatible mapping is Mapyx, which seems better and cheaper than Memory-Map, although less well established.
