Hi The Hartes,
I'm fairly new to camping, and also have two dogs (bouvier des flandres). I have just bought a new tent as my youngest (now 12 months old) figured out how to "escape" from the one I had, only used it twice, still. So I now have a tent with a sewn in ground sheet. I haven't tried it out yet, but it should scupper her plans!
I also take one of those things you screw into the ground and fasten your dogs to. Bought mine from the local pet shop for about £2, it works very well. Plus I use wind breaks so they can move about freely when I am in or around the tent. I tend not to leave mine alone in the tent, just in case madam gets out again.
The rest of the advice is good, lots of towels and access to water etc, mostly just common sense, but don't forget the poop bags!! Hope it helps, and enjoy!
