Thats a much better idea. I just looked at the pack and saw the 2 hooks but was being harangued by my children for cheap poundland tat at the time. I didn't buy it because I didn't want to use hooks in trees.

I am contemplating taking my 4 arm washing line from home (it collapses shorter than most) as I got a tripod stand for it from Amazon last year. May give it a go or just hang the towels on a piece of string like in the old days : )

I saw that too in poundland but wasnt sure how you would hang it.

I did however pick up 2 enamal plates for a pound and a cup and bowl for a pound, thought that was a bargin.

It was busy in ours yesterday and trying to keep two children in check and look while they're trying to run off to look at the plastic rubbish for a quid was a bit difficult. One remained holding hand at least whilst distracting her with anything other than washing lines!

I was very impressed with the little lattern I got in poundland this year. It is very bright considering and nice and small for packing too. I'll use it outside the tent as we have EHU lighting inside.

If you are thinking for campsite use, most sites don't let you put up a normal type of washing line strung between two objects due to the safety issues of someone walking into it.

You will either have to go for the camping rotary type as I would have thought the one from home would be a bit big and possibly encroach into others space or one of the coated wire frame jobs that you hang off a window

 This is certainley the case on Forestry Commission sites, danger to the animals as well.

We've got a plastic coated metal device that clips on to a window sill or a radiator at home.

Um, find it a bit diffiucult hanging one of the plastic coated wire ones from a tent lol.

The site we're going to has vast expanse in middle and only tents round the edge so space not a problem but as we're only going for a week, it'll be easier to fold the dirty clothes up and store them in laundry bin to bring home and wash! I was after just a washing line for towels and tea towels really. May just need to get some more micro fibre ones but 1) they're small (even bath size) and 2) if your skin is anything but smooth, they stick to you - and everything sticks to them

Oh well, keep thinking cap on for alternative ideas : )

I've just bought one of these from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40122995 I also have one of those elastic travel washing lines with a hook at each end.  It takes up very little room and between the two we should be ok!
