Have had a look through previous threads, but no recent ones so hoping for some up to date advice. Can anyone recommend some good vacuum storage bags, we need large ones to take pillows and quilts etc. It is only to use for the journey so we are not looking for long term use. Has anyone recently bought any succesful ones ?
Bought 2 from ikea recently and tried them out at home before we go away. They held the vacuum ok, also deflated them with a bellows footpump on suction. So will be able to use them on return trip. I think they sell 3 different sizes in twin packs.
Hi we got ours from Woolworths I think they are JML ones and they seem to work really well (well as long as Somebody, who shall remain nameless, remembers to actually seal it properly to start with)
I've had two different lots - one from QVC when they first came out and one from Index - and neither of them are any good. Apart from the fact that the air still gets in, you have a smallish package (once you've got the air out) but with a great long rod thing sticking out either side. I just use mine for storage to keep things from getting dusty but have given up bothering with getting the air out.
You have to be very careful when loading/unloading 'vacuum bags' from the car, they seem to split easily. I've had a few and none have lasted more than two or three trips...
They take up a little more space, but I now use 'under bed storage bags' from "Lidl". They slide neatly under a camp bed and with a complete zip around the top, you can easily get to the clothes you want. They are much more robust than the 'vacuum bags' (the 'plastic' is strengthened with a woven fabric) and keep your clothes neat and dry...
