You can use any gas on any stove. The difference between gas suppliers is the type of regulator the bottle accepts and the sizes of bottle that they do. If you do not intend to use the cooker much why not consider the small single burner suitcase cookers that cost about £10 and run off small gas cannisters.

If it is just for a few weekends, do you really need to lug around a double burner stove and gas bottle?
One or two suitcase type stoves would be easier to carry and cheaper to buy. The gas works out more expensive than Calor, but you won't be using much anyway.
Haven't these gone down in price since they first came out onto the market? Mine cost around £25 around 5 years ago. Can recommend. I take mine with me as a back up, or if I need three rings [rare] or run out of gas to the onboard cooker.

I bought the original Campigaz Bistro about six or seven years ago and it cost about £30. I don't think the cheaper ones have the flame failure device fitted, so you will have to be careful when it is windy, but other stoves do not have this anyway. I have not used my double burner since I bought the Bistro.
