I beleive they do some sort of device that you can put on your gas bottle so you can keep an eye on how much gas you have left in your bottles, but I havent a clue what they are called or where you get them from, cn anyone help me please??
They don't work. Trust me on this. Pick up your bottle and shake it. If you hear a sloosh you've got gas.
However, you'll still run out at difficult moments. Human nature and gas prices being what they are means that getting a not quite empty bottle refilled before the trip is unlikely to happen. So the most economical way to use your gas up is to have two bottles. Also it saves that sinking feeling when it's Sunday night, the gas runs out in the middle of cooking dinner, the warden has just gone home and anyway, he just sold the last refill in the size you need......
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
I got mine from our local caravan centre about 8 years ago cant remember how much but had no probs with it,so once you have one thats it,mine is for propane, the company is called Gaslow,I think,as thats the name on the gauge, hope this helps.

Those magnetic level indicators are rubbish, in fact i have just chucked mine out.
I think the best way to tell is to weigh the bottle on bathroom scales.
If you bottle is like my calor butane 4.5kg one it has a metal disc below the valve that has numbers on it. My says 13 2 which means it weighs 13 pounds 2 ounces empty. When full it should be around double this weight, so just weigh it before you go camping and then you'll know roughly how much gas is left
