I got a friend to get me one of these as she is a member of Costco and I'm not. It cost £35 and has wheels and seems huge. However there were no instructions at all with it. Supposed to keep things cold for 5 days. I know I'm a novice but what do I put in them  to get them chilled - it's huge!

(sorry I know this will be obvious to most on here, but not me!)

Wow, is that all I do then?

I thought I had to pour water in it or something but obviously not.

I got one of those IGLOO coolbowes from COSTCO last year.  They are very good.  However, I was more fastidious in preparing it than Rex has suggested.

I chilled it for 36 hours with ice, letting out melt-water through the plug at the bottom every so often.  Then, after filling it with the food to be kept chilled, I placed four one-litre square-based prism mineral water bottles, frozen, on top to create a blanket of cold air.  This easily kept things cold for the 5-days it claims to be able to....and some.

Rex can you explain how to SCOOP air into a bucket and then POUR it into a coolbox !

It was our first outing with our 3 way chest fridge / freezer We put it in the trailer Wednesday night and filled with the food. Then left it on 240 volts at the side of the house .When we left Thursday, we put it on 12 volts dc from the car. When we got the tent up we switched to gas as we don't go EHU. IT worked brilliant and didn't have to move the fridge it stayed in the trailer all weekend.

Could I ask Corpogreen about the 3-way fridge? I read they have to be left for 48 hours for the coolant to settle. Could this be done with a tent at all. We will mostly be taking short trips, but would love a fridge that coud make ice for a nice G&T at sunset.

Well Nobodys Poodle, I hadn't heard about leaving it to settle for 48 hours, i just put it in the trailer, switched it onto 240 volts, filled it with bacon ,sausages and milk. and other bits and bobs It was cold in the morning so i put it on 12 volts dc while travelling. when i had emptied the trailer i leveled the fridge up with a caravan spirit level and put it onto gas and everything was ok after all it's only the same system that is used in a caravan Think you may be getting mixed up with the action to take if the fridge doesn't ignite when it is put on gas, that is to turn it upside down for 48 hours to get out trapped air in the system
