Hi,
What's people's opinions on things like this ? are they worth the expense, or is a small extra table a better option to chop the onions and house the cooker ?
Cheers,
Tim

I have this one & find it just the ticket. Great for organising those bits & pieces. Slightly more expensive but if you are in no hurry I managed to pick it up 1/2 price so if you can wait a while until it's on offer again you might pick up a bargain.

to be honest we looked into one of those when we got our camping kitchen, but decided against it due to the cost of what we'd already spent. we've used the stove a number of times now & haven't felt the need for one. by needing to take the stove in & out of the tent when using it, i would say it would be a pain to move the whole set-up in & out too.

I have one quite similar to that and I think its ideal.  Mine was only £24.99

It has the shelf underneath for post n pans, side table is invaluable for serving food onto plates. At home you have worktop space either side of the cooker. it's awkward having to serve food straight from the pan when you have nowhere to put the plates down. Dangerous too walking about with a hot frying pan to the table.  Yes, I think theyre well worth it. Plus it all folds down so neat, in its own carry bag.

I used to have a simpler stand for the cooker with shelves underneath, but had to have an additional table as well for preparation and serving.

Room under the table for a storage box or coolbox for food too, so all in one place.

It was  bigger than I expected it to be,too, wider both ways to what I had imagined. Of course,  I didn't  check the measurements, but luckily it fits in my kitchen tent .

Good service from outdoor focus online too

I'm liking the look of that!  We have a cooker stand but always struggle plating up, so it's that or being sensible and just buying a cheap table. I know what i favour lol!

Right, wheres my commission?

The thing is sturdy tables don't come too cheap either do they?

I have one that has a plastic top and x folding legs , but its a bit wobbly sometimes as the legs aren't adjustable. and that cost me about £15

Got the one with a zip up larder on one side.  Got it mainly because it was the sturdiest one I could find - got a 3 year old so need it to be safely out of the way and not easily knocked over, with the larder its also great for storage.

Leave it all outside at night under a barbecue cover, held down with tent pegs, to stop it blowing away!

We have a 3 tier metal mesh one with add on plate rack and shelf. The cooker goes on the top. it's like new after 30 yrs of camping. I take 2 shelves of it when Guiding and doing no cooking. It stores all my bits and pieces!!!

so much choice !!!
Not having a camping shop close by (well, not one with a lot of variety to choose from anyway), it's all a bit difficult having to choose from internet sites.
We have a 2 and a 4 year old, and while we'd hope to keep it out of their way, something sturdy is required... pretty difficult to gauge from photos !
However, a lot of these comments are helpful. The one you suggest Debbie seems to have a sizeable fan-club and doesn't cost the earth. I think I might go with that...
Thanks.
Tim
