Does anyone know of a product that will whiten/clean the stained bowl of our caravan's chemical toilet. I gather that using bleach could dissolve the plastic. Would something like bicarb of soda harm it all? Anyone any ideas please?
I personally would try watered down bleach....i don't think it would do any harm to the plastic.... it's pretty hard plastic ya know...good luck with it anyhow....

The lesson is : NEVER TRY .
You could try Lime Lite spray, it cuts through the build up of limescale and with plenty of elbow grease may get rid of the stains. Never use a scouring pad or cream as it will scratch the plastic surface of the bowl, and encourage further staining. The same thing applys to not using a toilet brush.
I would give the bicarb a go. I pretty much only use bicarb and vinegar for all my cleaning. I have been amazed at the stains bicarb removes such as tea from work tops and even spice stains from cooking Indian.
I've got a spray of bathroom cleaner specially made for caravans. I can't remember what make it is but it's very good and brings everything up clean and shiny.
Don't use household products they are too harsh and are meant for ceramic toilets. Milton and a damp cloth should suffice. Also I give ours a daily wipe with Dettol antic bacterial wipes.

I think you may mean what hubby has just bought today - Thetford Bathroom Plastic cleaner which says it gets rid of limescale stains so we are giving it a go! Thanks.
