I eventually got a refund after many, many promises over 4 months. Out of his goodwill? he suggested and actually sent me £100 instead of the £94.50 he owed as compensation.
It crossed over with a letter I sent Jon with a 3 page chronology of dates and promises etc that never happened ending with a promis to take him to a small claim court if I did not get a refund in 7 days.
Jon phoned me (the only time in 4 months of chasing), very irate. he could not undersatand why I sent him the letter because he had promised me a refund. He said I owe him money now and if he did not get it he would send 'the builders round' I asked him if this was a physical threat and he just said I will send out debt collectors if I did not pay.
Hurrah,! Hurrah! at long, long last I have recieved my goods, in a broken box...but the goods were intact....I think the only reason I got them eventually is because I went to the Trading Standards and they told me to send him a letter detailing that I was cancelling the order and wished my money back, (Make sure you do it Recorded Delivery) and that he would be given thirty days in which to comply. Then they would take over. I sent the Trading Standards copies of all the complaints on this site. which was really helpful.
I urge anyone to think twice before buying ANYTHING from this company, I have never in all my days heard as many excuses from anyone, as I have from this man. But Trading Standards will fix him eventually.

Did everyone eventually get sorted out with this firm? I notice that they are trading at the Shepton Mallet show this coming weekend.Perhaps a last oppurtunity to get your money back before they disappear for winter.I think if you make a fuss with a lot of potential customers listening then they are less likely to fob you off with excuses?
It seems I have also been fleeced! I ordered a FB Grill back in August and, since it hadn't arrived in time for my holiday, I called them several times to find out why it hadn't been delivered. I was messed about and told they would call me back. Eventually, I was told they didn't have any in stock (despite being told previously that they had arrived and would be posted). The man I spoke to told me they would refund my card. They haven't done as yet, despite letters being sent to them by recorded delivery. My next step is the small claims court.
GROOVYJAN, CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY TELL THEM AND THEY SHOULD GIVE YOU A FULL REFUND.I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY REFUNDED ME IN FULL. DONT BOTHER WITH CLAIMS COURTS ,TRADING STANDARDS,OR POLICE, THEY ARE A WASTE OF TIME , I HAVE BEEN THERE WITH NO JOY. BEST OF LUCK,
I'm really surprised to hear of all the trouble people have been having with this company. I ordered a couple of items from them last summer and they arrived well packaged and a day before I expected them, they were at a very good price too. I guess I was just lucky for once!
I'm glad I spotted this thread as I was consider ordering a few more items from them ready for next season. I shall be looking elsewhere now for sure.
I hope everyone manages to get their goods or money back soon. I noticed on their website a few days ago something about re-location of the business and a mobile number quoted for contact. Hopefully this doesn't mean they'll be disappearing into thin air leaving problems unresolved...
operating a company from a mobile phone. a new address, what are they up to now ? being they are still operating from the same area any good company would keep the same phone number. i expect it makes in more differcult for customers to contact them . i will be watching what they get up to .
When i visited this company many months ago after reading peoples posts on here they hold an average amount of stock.
I mentioned one persons gripe on here(they asked if i minded) He was really helpful but did have a list of excuses even as far as bringing out the violins.
So maybe unless your in a position to collect your items steer clear.

Since November (my last post) my father decided to deal with this issue. I was too late to ask my bank to refund my card so my dad went through the small claims court. A few weeks later I had a response from a woman who claimed to have lived at the address for 7 years stating that Fourways Leisure hadn't operated from that address. On further investigation, Fourways used the address as their registered business 3 years ago. We are still pursuing this through the courts so we will keep you informed.
in october last year we visited the store (that has been mentioned further back in this post) on church street in edwinstowe .it was well eqipped with camping attire but mainly i think the business was more for equine hobby

Fourways do sound as if they 'haven't got it quite right'. Not like many other companies who seem to give excellent service. I ordered 5 quick lock pads from Jeff Bowen on Monday afternoon this week. They arrived Tuesday morning - and that was standard rate postage. If I'd have paid for fast delivery, I reckon someone would have knocked me up on th early hours of Tuesday morning - or I might even have had them by tea time Monday. Well done Jeff Bowen - excellent service. [Just thought we could do with some good news on this thread.]
