we had the same problem,we put washing up on the bit that goes through the channel, and the pads we put one in the middle and one at each end,we had the plastic eyes one, until wind caught the awning so we put the plastic disc on and know works a dream, but don`t give up it gets easier,each time you put up your awning

When I used to go camping with my parents we used to sit and laugh at those flying tents and awnings !

Now I have my own caravan it isn't as funny

Hows this for an embarrassing awning story!

 We had a weekend away in our caravan, i caught a stomach bug and felt lousy(still in pjs,unbrushed hair etc etc) and hubbie got called in to work.The wind picked up and i thought it best to take the awning down before it blew down (we apparently didn't use the right pegs.)To cut a long story short, me and the two littl uns,started dismantling the poles, a huge gush of wind swept by,knocked me and kids against the caravan,the awning then pinned us firmly in place until some one kindly rescued us, we hid in the caravan, with the blinds down for the rest of the weekend!

We practised at home too.  We can now get the main awning up and fitted out in about 45 mins.  The Trio Combi porch awning takes a good hour, and our little Panorama pop up takes 5 mins!  Guess which one we use most

If ever we see anyone starting to scratch heads or struggle we always walk over and offer help - certainly breaks the ice.

Hi there it does get easier.The blue words tend to be less and less as you get used to which way it goes up lol......We was away one weekend and we see this couple with small kids struggling with the awning.I went down and asked if they needed any help and they did,they was feeding the wrong bit into the awning rail same as first post,it took me and hubby and them ages to get it all out of the awning rail.We showed them how easy it was to slide through they could,nt believe it,so we helped them put the rest of the awning up,they was so pleased that we had offered to help them.Thing is there was a couple on both pitches either side of them that did not even bother to help they must have seen that they was having trouble,we was further up and we noticed they was having difficulty.I cant believe how rude and unfriendly the other couples were.............the next day the couple we had helped came over and thanked us for helping an gave us a bottle of wine and some choccies as a gesture we refused but they sort of made us accept lol.......i thought that all us fellow tin tenters are supposed to be really friendly and helpful ,there is obviously some who are not   lol.......any way DAVIDXYZ  you enjoy your awning and have loads of fun memorys away you will look back at the first time in a few years and have a good laugh about it                      SUE

Oh no!!!!!  We are going away on Friday to put up an awning that came with our caravan - never put one up before!!!!!!!!!

we just started caravaning last year and we are on our 3rd awning mainly because of all the arguments

now we have one that stays on the caravan and goes up in 10mins, we do love watching others put up theres though 

How do you think we feel, we went away this weekend, put up the porch awning as it was late when we got there Friday night then Sunday morning took down the porch awning put up the full awning off our old caravan and took photos of it so we can sell it on ebay, then put up the new full awning just to check that everything was ok before we go on holiday next week and then as soon as we had finished that it was time to pack up and go home. All this was done without one cross word - not bad eh!!!
