Hi,
Camping virgin looking to start next week with family. I recently bought a campgaz chef grill. Started looking for places to buy the bottles and Gas!!
Can anyone suggest the best stores or locations to purchase them.
I like the idea of the local council tip, will definately try that.

Hello and welcome to the site.I see from having a google you have bought a double burner and grill.Are you planning on camping in Europe? if not you can get any type of gas bottle its the regulator that makes the difference.I run an older style of your cooker on a calor gas bottle

Sorry to jump in to someone else's post - but I'm in a similar position and I'm wondering, since we'll be travelling to France with the same cooker - would we be better off going for camping gaz from the start?

Calor isn't availible in France but you can get CampingGaz refills in most big French supermarkets as well as at campsites. I camp in France a lot and can't be bothered with either lugging enough Calor for a six week trip or even having two sets of cylinders and regs at home, so I use 100% CampingGaz. Which is cheaper in France than here, as it happens, so not that pricey an option.

Thank you to everyone. Good advice. I went to local Harle and Peel, two nice lads behind the counter informed me that campgaz is very expensive here.
They sold me the calor gas twice as big £10 cheaper. Although I did have to pay £10 for the regulator

They're £2.70 where I get my plumbing and gas supplies from (www.bes.co.uk)
For anyone who needs to use campingaz when abroad you can get an adaptor that allows you to attach the Calor regulator to a campingaz cylinder. Search for part number 8888 on the site link above
