Whilst equipment gathering and browsing various sites for bargains as on a limited budget for stuff, I came across this:
Steel Framed Camping Bed

for £14.99 at Argos it looks very much like the Gelert one (only a couple of cm's difference and Aluminium) which I've not seen for less than £24.50

Just thought I'd share as I now know when buying equipment for several people it adds up.

Hi all,I am completely new to the whole camping scene and I am getting all the kit together for our first family trip in june. Can anyone advise me wether camp beds are better than air beds. I was considering getting the camp bed mentioned. Thanks for any advice.

We use airbeds on top of campbeds, very comfy and warmer than being on the ground.

I think having tried beds and air beds and now a mat- the at is my favourite

We use a colman double comfort cos OH is heavier than me .Son uses the Argos camp bed.Son prefers his camp bed and you can store stuff underneath

Hi Beagle 1, I've recently changed from airbed to camp bed as they are a lot more comfy and you get a better nights sleep. The air beds can deflate a bit in the night and you end up with a bad back in the morning sometimes. I've bought a sunncamp extra large camp bed off ebay and it is really sturdy and comfy. Hope that helps.

Thanks Ai, we are going for our first trip next weekend with airbeds, but if they don't work out I will get campbeds instead. Really looking forward to camping for the first time
