They will be Ok if you have a RCD protected lead however they are cheap old rubbish that you can buy from B+Q for a pound or two and stick a plug on.

These are great.I've been using them for years.

Like a giant clothe peg, clips on anywhere. Uses a normal bulb , or a low energy one

Yet again it looks like a home-made ebay special - take 2 cheapo light fittings (99p each retail price) add a length of flex (couple of quid) and a plug (50p) and then add a tenner on for your profit. Hey bingo you have a set of camping lights on ebay.

Hmmm, maybe I should be selling them as well . . .

We use a similar light to these:

Low power consumption, a nright light and robust so handles all the knocks of loading and unloading.

I have one of these too, and can reccommend as well, they are great and you can fix them anywhere. I think you can buy them in Wilkinsons and car accessory shops as well. A good length of flex too.

Should be fine.  We went to France with Eurocamp (all the equipment supplied by them) a few years ago.  This is what their frame tents have in.  They are sold at caravan shops too.Look here.  The E bay ones look great for that price.  We use outdoor fairy lights in our awning.  These are available either as 240 V or low voltage with a plug in transformer.  Only problem with low voltage stuff is that the transformers are sometimes too big for the weatherproof sockets on the EHU.  You can't win!

Avoid the clothes peg ones, the bulb is completely exposed.    Bulb gets hot, fabric burns.  What happens if they get wet?  Also what happens if it gets knocked off?
