I dont know much about this but what I do know is that the higher the Mah, the battery capacity so they last longer and are a little more powerful (I think!)

My hubby is the one to ask about this but he is at work so I will ask him later and post if I have proper information.

It seems, like everything, that you get what you pay for. Cheap batteries and charger = short life and lower power so i think it is worth investing a little more for decent performance.

Not sure this helps but at least it got rid of the blue face

Angie.

We have red rechargeable batteries and green ones. The green ones are more expensive and take double the time to charge so I guess they're better

Don't ask me to get any more technical than that  lol

Lidl and/or Aldi quite often have them in their "specials" got mine from Lidl a couple of years ago along with a load of batteries (AA and AAA) still using them and they work fine. If I remember the charger was £4.99 and the batteries £1.99 for four.

you will get some great bargains here.

Depends on what you are using them for as to which rating is best but the higher the MH the longer they last but also the more they cost.

Depends what you want them for. We have a superb solar recharger for the camping ones. Its slow but keeps the one set charged faster than the torch and camera can run them down.

use Ni-Mh batteries, not Ni-cads, and the biggest capacity is a trade off on price and charging times, so I prefer to use about 1.8 Ah batteries, and have several sets, rather than 2.5 Ah, but obviously mine don't last as long.

I also found some adaptors, that you put AA's into, they're a sleeve that is the same size as a D cell, so I use AA's only and can use car chargers and fast chargers, which aren't avaivable for D cells. They were in a local pound shop.

Slow charging is better for the battery than fast charging, unless it is an expensive charger, but they're so cheap it doesn't really matter anymore.

LIDL's have two chargers in at the moment.  One with mains and car adaptors that takes AA size batteries, and a mains only charger that takes up to D size and PP3 batteries.
