i use metal ones mostly but when i use the plastic ones i use a rubber mallet.

what did you hit yours home with ??

I bought a pack of three heavy nylon bags with drawstrings at GoOutdoors for £3, ideal for holding pegs etc.  Each bag is a different colour so they are easily identified.

How did it happen?
I "think" mine must have hit a rock/stone and pushed it backwards, I put them in as instructed and all looked OK on the ground, didn't know anything till I took them out.

I have several that have cracked where you hit them - tbh I wasn't particularly impressed that they broke so easily as we have never used them in hard ground - they broke first time we used them and the pitch was sandy.

You spent £13 on a bag for your tent pegs?  

We keep ours in an assortment of carrier bags, rolled up and stowed in corners of the plastic crate that holds all the non-kitchen equipment.

nice bag but for that money i would want the carabinnerthingeys! It's the best bit!

Sadly I have never seen a need for aerodynamic, ergonomic tent pegs that cope with the moments and couplings of a tent on the south coast of England .But I do sling all my other dynamic ground support and tensioning devices in a large ex Army bag with mallet, nylon string, adhesive tape of any description,stanly knife blade,spanners and screwdrivers,spare bottle opener x 2,other Man type stuff and a handy tool for removing small children and dogs from horses hooves. This sadly is the first bag to emerge from the boot. ( you know where you are with sticky tape )
