Hi,

has anyone tried the Aldi Electric Coolbox that they have in store at the moment?

I was thinking about getting one for camping, but dont know whether it is any good.

Thanks

Mark

We have had one for some time. Used it France during summer whilst camping and they work very well if you use frozen "pads" to help things along. Ours worked as well as a fridge. We powered ours from our car and left it for days. Still working well after a couple of years intermittent use

We'd bought a second hand Waeco Combicool 3 way fridge which unfortunately didn't work and as a last minute replacement (2 days before we were due to go away) we bought the Lidl coolbox.  Great bit of kit.  Took up much less room than the bulky 3 way fridge and was easy to carry from tent to car to house to where ever you want!  Kept everything cold, as above a couple of thin ice packs if you want to help it a bit, and is big enough to keep our daily essentials in (we're a family of 5 so that's a lot of bacon and sausage).  We use another non-electric coolbox with ice blocks to keep the beers in!  Well worth its money.

Hi we bought one last year and are very pleased with it the only downfall we find with it is its height. It won't stand up in either our trailer or car boot  and laying flat takes up quite a lot of room. If you buy one when you turn it off ready to come home remove the lid and prop up on its side to let the water the water drain from the lid.

If you buy one when you turn it off ready to come home remove the lid and prop up on its side as it gets a small amount of water in it once unplugged and your better to drain it out

Got one last year ,used it on seasonal pitch all summer.  Great for keeping drinks. We also had fridge in caravan.I plugged it out at night as it does make a little noise .Kept it in the awning and was very pleased with it. Wouldn't plug out if you intend keeping food in it but ok with drinks.

Thanks for all the replies.

Noise was one of the things I was worried about.

I think I will get one tomorrow, as I am off to the Isle of Wight next week.
