Thanks, I saw them but I wasn't sure how many points they had to attach to and so what different ways you could put them up. Also Robens do a 3x3 one and I think the Decathlon is a bit bigger? On top of that I can't face driving to Lakeside with my 1 year old!

I've got a robens 3x3 tarp - you can put it up freestanding but its a bit of a faff - I wanted it as a porch canopy but the seam runs diagonally so I never managed to get it taut.

Just seen you said the decathlon was 3x3 Shimmy, sorry!
Thanks for the tip about the seam Sooz. Might have to make that trip then even if it ends up costing the difference in petrol and stress! How many fixing points does the decathlon have?

Hi we have the Decathlon tarp, it comes with 2 poles. The tarp does come with extra eyelets fixed to the tarp, which should enable you to buy additional poles.

However does anyone know where to buy extra poles, approx 6ft?

I have searched ebay but no joy

Can't comment on the robens tarp but we have the quechua tarp and find it so versatile, it can be used in a lot of configurations and well worth the money, we were in Decathlon today and they had spare poles for sale, not sure how much

Also, for more money, OUTWELL do a Tarp, 3000HH like most their tent materials, is dearer at around £40 but is 3.5m x 3.5m and comes with 2 poles at 2.3m Ht, which is 7' 6". Google for best price!
