We've come back from our camping trip today and I wanted to say thankyou to those that reccomended the Outhouse tent...it was fab and well worth every penny!

More help needed on sleeping arrangements.  We've just had our 4th year of airbed problems, and so decided that we are not having air beds next year.  The alternative I guess it camp beds.  Any reccomendations from the camping bible?  Both me and my sis are nearly 20 stone, although both trying to lose but we both need somthing that we know is going to hold us safely.  My nephew is currently 15 stone, but is already 6 ft 2 and only 14 years old, so he's gonna get waaayyyyy bigger yet.

I was sick of airbeds too, so got the york mats from argos , £15 each 2inch thick foam and very comfortable and warmer than airbeds. Downside is they dont roll up they fold into a 6inch thick 2ft square, but if you have room for them they are great.

Aldi have self inflating mats for £10 each, seem to have good reviews so far.

Can I suggest Thermarests (or fat airics)

If you are going to go camping regularly they are a fab investment. Expensive but worth every penny. I have had the basecamps for a few years now and will not be going onto anything else until the day I can bring my actual bed (even then I am not sure lol)

It's weird being low to the ground but the comfort and warmth is something else.

The only campbed that woudl hold my OH would be far too bulky to take with us  (he is 19 stone and 6'2) To be honest we also like to cuddle up together and can't do that with campbeds

LOL that's why we have the basecamps, plenty of width and length.

We camp on them in winter too with no extra insulation needed, just sleeping bag and normal nightgear.
