 Hi,

 I need to replace the airbeds again! They don't seem to last all that long, I've seen this offer  which seems really good and wondered if anyone could recommend these or any other air beds.

Thanks

We have always found the red and blue cotton boxed sided airbeds the best.  Last longer than others we have had.

Link works for me. Have you thought about trying the self inflating mats Kay?

I think you find with airbeds,you get what you pay for.The aero beds are the best,but expensive.The next best (which we have used for 3 years now without any problems ) are the Coleman ones (green).See link.

I agree with Sue, you get what you pay for. The only problem I had with a Coleman one was a one-off that leaked on first use around one of the oval 'dimples'.

If you're using any air-inflated mattress there are a few common sense rules to make them last longer:

  • Don't over-inflate them as it strains the seams;
  • don't walk on them as the 'point-pressure' can rupture seams;
  • don't let the kids use them as trampolines;
  • watch what you put them on to make sure there's nothing sharp;
  • use a deflater (if at all possible) to take all of the air out and roll them up carefully before storage (avoid 'creasing' which can cause point-fractures on seams).

The Coleman ones do come with repair kits but, quite frankly, once they've split on a seam you've pretty much had it.

I have always found the cheap red/navy box sided airbeds very good. On our second one in 11 years!! About £12 or £13. We use them between camping trips for visitors and sleepovers!! Never go down. No punctures!!

Saying that we also bought an Intex double height kingsize last summer, cos I wanted more height and width.  Bought it from Cybercheckout  at around £20/25.  Been well impressed with it.

Get the best you can afford. Look on the internet for bargains.

The Coleman beds are good and are like 2 singles together so avoiding the "heavy person on the floor and light person on the ceiling" syndrome.

A bad nights sleep will spoil the next day .. life is too short to waste :)

Angie.

  Thanks for the replies,

 it does make sense you get what you pay for but I always like to think there is a bargain to be had. I hadn't thought about self inflating mats, my husband suffers with his back but has always been fine sleeping on an airbed.

Thanks Kay

Sounds like the Colemans is the choice then!
