a tablecloth preferably pvc with a hole in the centre so we can put the parasol in (yes Im hoping for sunshine :)) our picnic table and ideally rectangular in shape

Im not great at sewing but would have a go at putting a hole in a regular tablecloth - has anyone done this successfully ? or do you think it would work ?

Lot of different designs. All it would need is a cross cut in the middle for your parasol.

If you already have a pvc tablecloth, you can just cut a hole in the middle,as  it won't fray.

if you mean a normal fabric one , find the centre point by folding it in 4 . Then cut a cross shape , say about an inch each way. Fold back the cuts so you have 4 triangles,  leaving a square hole in the middle . Like you would do for cutting wallpaper around a light switch. Iron the triangular flaps down , then stich along the square hole edges. Try it out on a bit of paper first, to see how long the cuts should be to make the hole the right size.  if you dont want to sew at all, use the iron on wonderweb stuff for hemming .

Just had a look and might try and make my own and use the finishing rings the oblong ones are £24.99 which is a wee bit steep but I guess I can justify £2.99 for the rings and the price of a cheapish pvc tablecloth and if I make a hash of it then at least I have given it a go :)

where can you buy the clips that hold the tablecloths on to the table to stop the wind blowing them up?

i know I've seen them somewhere but can't remember?

Oh Lakeland have them on there website so can nip into Lakeland after I have looked at and bought some material to make the table cloth and get the finishing rings too - hey presto a rectangular pvc tablecloth with a hole in the middle - didnt take long did it :)
