Can you link to it as I can't seem to find it on their website. =(

Also, can anybody help me with this... The campsite I want to go to has this to say on their FAQ:

What type of electrical connection must I have to have use of an electric hook up in a Tent, Trailer Tent or Older Unit?
61Click image to enlarge
You will need this type of Mobile Mains Unit , with either a single/triple socket for your electrical equipment in your tent. The 13 amp sockets must be to IPP44, the distribution box must a transparent window, 10 amp double pole MCB, 25 amp RCD connected to 10 meters of cable to BS6500, 240V plug to ISO BS4343 you will also need a 25 metre extension cable to reach some pitches.
Please remember that all appliances that are plugged in must not consume more than a total of 10 amps in total, and must be specifically designed for use in a tent. (Normal household appliances must not be used).
All appliances have a wattage marked on them, ideally the maximum wattage should be no more than 850 to 950 watts. We reserve the right to decline any equipment that we deem to be unsuitable for use. (Without refund).

I'm confused because having read the EHU thread I know that my 2kw fan heater will use less than the limit of 10 amps, but they specify that no appliance should be more than 950 watts. I know I should ring and ask them but I just thought I would ask the forum's thoughts too and whether this or this or the one OP is talking about meets their requirements.

junkd, firstly both the ehu`s you are looking at are compatible for all campsites but you will have a hard job to beat the deal that cliffbrown has mentioned. secondly your 2kw fan heater will be fine on a 10 amp site, just sounds as tho the owners don`t want you to use to much electric !!!!

Thanks rhondda. I thought that was the case but these guys do seem pretty strict!

They informed me on the phone that I would have to have my EHU unit on the top of my luggage so it could be inspected on arrival.

I've checked my heater and it's only 2kw on the higher setting, it's only 1kw on the lower so I'll double check with them first but I should be alright shouldn't I? =)

Good job I didn't have my credit card with me at work today or I may have ordered one of those new triangular EHU units, I'll hold on for GoOutdoors on Monday now.

yes, you will be fine with a 2kw heater, a general rule of thumb is 1amp = 230 watts. so a 10amp site will give you approx 2.3 kw, this will run your heater no probs. which leaves you with 300 watts for lighting extra, taking into account that the average household bulb is only 60 watts you will be fine. they obviously don`t want you to use to much electric, even tho you are paying for it !  my answer would be, don`t tell them what you are using.

Anyone live near a GoOutdoors and fancy posting me one? =P It sucks living miles away from the good camping shops.

Teesside. If it is indeed store only I think I'll just buy one from somewhere else off the net as it'll cost me more in petrol to get to a store.
