sorry, just couldn't work out how to attach the flag properly.

I bought a 5m flag pole, a groundstake and a pair of bungees .

The stake went in fine, the pole sat on top, no problem, tied a guyline around the bottom section to steady it.

But how do you attach the flag?

The bungee thing was just an elastic ring with a bobble on it. There was a tiny loop on top of the pole , too small for the bungee to thread through, so we used a bit of fishing line to tie the top ring of the flag on the loop, and the bungee on the bottom ring of the flag.

What should we be doing?

That's the way to do it    

 use both bungees,  the ring at the top of the pole is for attaching a windsock

Sorry, off thread but just wanted to know how your family weekend went.  Read about the drainage problem, i hope it didn't spoil your time too much.
