We have just gone Vodafone dongle on a contract for 15 quid a month. 7.2 down load speed with up to 5g down load per month. This is more than enough. We have even cancel BB at home now and the home telephone line as no one ever uses it. Be careful with 3 as i have heard alot of people having to scrap them as thier coverage is not so good. Enjoy.
Just returned home from holiday in Shropshire.Bought a 3G PAYGbut couldn't get it to work at first. Rang the helpline and was talked through step by step. Works brilliantly now. Not sure about coverage in Anglesey where we go next. We shall see.
Hiya. Bought the 3G dongle pay as you go. I was abit concerned at first, you only have 3 days to return it, if its not working and as I didn't buy until the day before we went away at 5pm (and they classed that as my 1st day - cheek!!) thought this might be a waste of money. But we tried it at home that night and it worked. better and quicker than land line. lol. But when camping, we couldn't get any reception in Coniston. (Just thought better start using it at home, use my tenner up -lol)
My brother told me, if he needs to use his laptop, he just pulls over and theres usually a wireless signal in a street and uses it.

My Nokia N82 mobile phone has wi-fi on it . . . just do a search for an open connection and bingo, you're online! Sometimes its very handy as you can look up an address on the internet while out and about.
The *potential* (ie low but possible) pitfall of using free wifi spots is not knowing whether you can trust the person who provides it - your network traffic is going through their servers so all the data out/back ie your passwords, may be at risk. I know the chances of your transmitting through just the wrong one is low, but before you say oh there is an unsecured hot-spot I will have a borrow of it - think what sort of trouble you might get into for your free 5 mins online... I was a victim of identity theft about 6 years ago, it was a nightmare and I dont recommend it. Id rather pay for a secure service these days than risk my passwords being compromised.
I would never use a free wi-fi connection for anything involving passwords or sensitive data. Doing a Google search of a company to find out its postcode for your sat nav is fine IMHO.

I was trying to be ironic. Sorry. I had my Pay Pal account messed around with last year, nearly lost £3500. No I didn't use someone elses wi-fi, it was Pay Pals fault!
I got the Nokia 6120 classic from three on contract. It also doubles up as a dongle for broadband, so for an extra £10 a month I can use broadband via my mobile phone plugged into the laptop AND have all the functions of the mobile phone!! The contract im on cost £15 a month for 300 minutes or texts or combined and the extra addon for broadband is another £10 but i can add it only when I need it rather than being tied to it for 12 months. The phone is a beauty too!!
