Does anyone know whats the best reasonable priced, long lasting light for inside tent
We also have been advised to get headlights aswell.

I have been reading the posts about the crazy prices people pay for these things!!! Do you really have to pay a fortune for a decent light?

Does people use their ehu and just buy some sort of lamp and run it off ehu?

Any tips/advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi wee Molly & welcome to the forum

When we take EHU we just use a simple clip-on bulb holder with a low energy bulb - about £2 max. Without electric we use the round LED lights (UFO lights) which you can pick up in Poundland, or like us, from Morrisons for £2.99. We also have a Campingaz 206 lantern which is nice for early/late season as it gives off a bit of heat to take the chill off

Yes, they are really bright but our local Morrisons have had a bucket full of them returned. The side clips where the elastic threads thru seems to be very weak - I have returned 3 now

The Alpkit head troch at £12.50 may be a better bet if you're on a budget CLICKY

Clip-on light which uses an ordinary bulb for use on EHU. £2.99 from my local cheapy shop. Easier and less bulky than a table lamp with shade. Takes a standard bayonet type bulb.

Go here for the one I have

For non-EHU, I'm still looking for the perfect thing, but I have 9v spots anyway, and a wind up torch, also a few push lights which run off batteries.

These are really dangerous!  Do not use them in a tent!  They get hot, even with low energy bulbs & can melt plastic.  There is no protection from live parts if the bulb breaks & they have no protection against moisture.  If you must use 240V go for something designed to cope outdoors like these.  You may be better with a re chargeable unit like this..

Hi, in your tent do you have any means of hanging a lamp from the 'ceiling' ?  Just in ours we hang an argos lamp that has two levels of brightness, battery operated and we find it is fine.
