Hi Everyone,

I need help choosing camping chair. As we all know there is nothing more frustrating than at the end of the hard day than getting in to uncomfortable chair:(

I am going next year on the overland trip in Africa, and for that I need to get best camping chair to stand chase of surviving :)

I would like to know your thoughts on the camping chair Brands and quality. As I am going to use my chair every day I will need something heavy duty. I have bought some `heavy duty` on eBay, but……hmmmmmm let just say I have done a big mistake. So now I need to buy again (well done) :( .

Thanks in advance

This is a very comfortable chair

It is great quality, sturdy and very comfortable. It not cheap though, but worth the money in my opinion.

We have two of those ibrgic and they are so comfy. You can get them from Tesco Direct for £15.00 each now and they will deliver free to your nearest store, all you have to do then is go and collect them. Honest they are greatttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!

Hey you going in a Landy? Silly question - course you are!

We just bought two Royal Camping Chairs but to be honest although they're really comfortable - they're really big and heavy to be hauling up onto the Land Rover's roof rack all the time. I wish we'd stuck with the smaller, cheaper albeit less comfy chairs!

We are not going in the Landy. Official name for our beast is `Land rover recovery vehicle` (Landcruiser).... :) sorry I couldn't help myself :)

Last year we were camping in Morocco for three weeks and we got £10 chars we manage to break two out of four. So this time We need something solid. I don't mind spending a bit more on the camping chair this time

Got one of these from Halfords recently chair
It has a higher back and wider seat than the usual folding chairs, its also well padded and really comfy. Havent had it long but I dont think the pole will come out of the top of the back rest the way they usually end up doing ! Pack size is bigger than the standard style, but we plan to fit another one in somewhere or we will be fighting over the best seat !

Hi There

These are very good chairs but they do come at a price. Worth always trying out first as Her in doors is fairly small and found them uncomfortable made for taller folk.

They are quite strong and could help fend off a lion when out in the bush in Africa rather than some plastic chair. Good hunting.

i think the carp fishing stuff (generally) must pack up quite small as it is intended to be lugged along a river bank.

the one i posted is maybe a bit ott but the smaller ones are highly recommended too. Plus they have adjustable legs for uneven ground.

i was inspired by a post in one of these threads...  but i can't say which one it was.

i am v envious of your landcruiser

crossed in the post !

Hi, am in this too quandry and have been out to local camp shop and sitting in some at the weekend, so glad I did! I was originally taken with the outwell 'moon' chairs on spec, but was gutted when sat in one, found the front bar really annoying, shame as they hug your body nicley and lots on here had find them great! Also tried the outwell 'camper deluxe' this was much better, seemed sturdy and srong and very comfy I thought, both folded up well. Sat in lots of others ( every one actually! )but the outwells stood out I thought. Have seen a royal one too similar but not tried, see links
