Just used my Kampa Kazi for the first time this weekend, having spent 40 years running to the loo during the night when I am camping I am amazed I didn't buy something like it years ago. so much more comfortable. Just a stroll up to the disposal point in the morning so easy.

We have bought one from ebay a Campingas Euro WC and cant wait to stop the middle of the night loo trip!!

Never having owned or indeed used one of these contraptions before can someone tell me anything about the pink / blue chemicals - we were given some with it but no instructions so we're really not sure how much we put in or when etc....we can see the blue goes in the bottom which i assume is waste but what about the pink??? Can anyone give me some brief guidelines of measurements and where the chemicals go etc???   I don't need advice on actually using it though!!!!!

thanks

Blue goes in the waste tank and the pink in the flush.   Somewhere on the bottle it should give the proportions, which I followed when I first got my loo, but these days I just put a slug of blue in the bottom, and the same with the pink in the top.
The blue or green helps break down the wastes, and keeps it from smelling - not too sure about the pink off hand.

Thanks Bernie - i think the chemicals have been syphoned (sp?) from larger containers as there are no instructions on either as i had anticipated there would be!!!

Do you have to put a slug in each every time its used or once a day or less often?????

I just put a slug in when I first set it up, and then again after I have emptied it.  Depending on how often it is used, I find that I need to empty the waste container about every three days.    Just take the waste section to the CDP, empty, rinse around with the hose that is there, and then reset up with a fresh slug of blue.

You can manage fine without the pink.

In the base goes a slug of green or blue - green is better for the environment apparnetly.

It is fine to just use fresh water in the flush part of the loo, espeically if its a clea new loo.

We have a kampa flushing one and I use fresh water in the top and a slug of green and a bit of water in the base. Job done so to say.

sorry - another question - i have just been reading up on a site we are visiting soon and on theie booking conditions it states:-

ONLY BIODEGRADEABLE Cassette chemicals may be disposed of on site.

does this refer to the loo paper being the proper chemical sort or something else and will my Campingas Euro WC fall into this category??

i have got the hang of most camping orientated things very quicly but god i'm struggling with this toilet business

That means you need to use the green chemical that you can buy which is apparently more enviromently friendly, not the blue that came with your loo.

Yes, thats the stuff, and i don't see any reason why you can't switch between the two types as the waste container will need a good rinse anyhow.
