OMG, why are there so many stoves to choose from? Anyway, I think I am going to go for the Campingaz Camping Chef (the double one with the grill), we are 1 adult, 2 lads and a dog! Any comments about this stove gratefully received, plus do you have to use Campingaz (904/907) or can you use another brand (as long as you have the right regulator). Am really at a loss of which gas to use and what size bottle?

Thanks

Simon

I've got one if you're interested - I'd sell it for £20 but the postage is likely to be around £12 as it's fairly weighty!

Only used twice!

It works fine, I just prefer the convenience of the briefcase single burner stove.

I used Campingaz 907 bottle for it - you could use Calor but you'd need to change the regulator as they're different.

 I have  2 kids and a dog .

And in the garage I have a SunnGas 3 burner ( with a drop down toaster !! ) comes in it's own case , and it has adjustable length legs , it runs off a 907 gas cylinder . Got it from Towsure .

BUT we take a 'suitcase ' type stove and a folding mesh type toaster ( takes up less room in the car ) and have no problems at all ; and apart from an occasional trip to the chippy ; I cook every day , we've used disposable bbqs too ; but have just got a 'notebook' bbq to go with us ( fits under dog bed in boot , and we can get charcoal when we're away )

i have the same one with the grill & a 904 & a 907 gaz bottle. If i am going for a short time i take the small bottle - longer i take both. the grill is good (can do small pizza in there) & i find i can cook up enough for us to eat with this stove !!

why is it that bacon smells so lovely on a campsite in the morning!!

The only problem with the camping gaz stoves is that they have sharp metal edges so you have to be a bit carfeul when cleaning them
