Thinking of using vacuum sacks for sleeping bags etc but dont want to drag the household hoover with us around Europe so what does everyone else do?

If you leave a corner of the bag open then roll it up from the bottom as tight as you can you can expell a lot of the air, then seal it completely, not quite as good as using the vacuum cleaner but better than nothing.

Don't know if it would work but air pumps usually have a suck out feature on them may be if you could get a half decent seal that may do it (Argos have a battry one for £3.99 I think) but I think a lot of air pumps have them now

we have the 12v powered pump from argos and it is a blow and suck and has and adaptor that fits the vacuum bags so will use that for the way home

we have electric pump from Aldi works wonders on my vacuum bags adequate to get us home then if I need to i suck out more air with vacuum
