Can anybody tell me if they have a Remoska for camping and if they are good. I am thinking about buying one with my birthday money to use at home but also for camping. What size do you think we would need for a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and what sort of things do you cook in them when you are camping?
I did a search but I couldn't find much on them and the posts all seemed to be from a while ago - Thanks for any advice
I have just been given a remoska (the really big one) and am thinking about taking it in our campervan - we also camp but dont use electric and I wouldnt fancy taking it in a tent anyway as the lid is soooo big and gets so hot I would be frightened it burnt/melted something!
It might actually be too big for our campervan too as the benches arent that wide and I would be worried my daughter touched it.
Saying that, I only got it a couple of days ago and all I have cooked in it are homemade oven chips (fab!) and homemade roast pots! It would be interesting to see what others make in it and if they use it when camping (I dont honestly think I would have forked out nearly £100 for it mind you!)

I have a large one which I use at home but I don't fancy taking it camping.
The lid as lindjemp says gets very hot because this is where the heating element is. If you have the large one which I think you would need for 4 then it would need a sizeable space where you can put the lid down safely to cool.
My caravan is a really small 4 berth with a tiny kitchen and no oven so I use my Remoska in the awning. The lid does get very hot but I have a long narrow table (which I do most of my 'electric' cooking on) and when not on the pot place the lid hot side up on a glass work top saver (a poundland special).
Roast chicken is one of our favorites. I can just about fit a small chicken in mine - enough meat for 1 meal for 4 adults. Hot crusty bread rolls - the par cooked ones from the supermarket - are lovely with a tin of chunky soup.
Any oven ready meal can be cooked in the Remoska, so long as the container isn't plastic. Pizza's work well but unless you get the little party type ones it's difficult to get a full hot pizza out of the pan. Sausage rolls and pasty's are good.
At home I've done fruit crumbles, meat pies, roast parsnips and potatoes, chips etc. You can cook most things in it really. The only thing I can think wasn't to our liking was some bacon, we like ours really crispy perhaps didn't leave it in long enough, but I've a Foreman Grill thing for bacon so haven't tried again.
If you do decide to get one, Lakeland do a none stick sheet which you can cut to size and line the base. Not only does it protect the none stick surface, makes the Ramoska really easy to clean.
It does sound really good for camping. My children are teenagers so wouldn't have to worry too much about the hot lid and we have a utility tent with kitchen stand and table so could use this to stand it on.
Do you think the standard size is sufficient or now that you have used it would you have preferred the larger size for 4 people? My hubby and son both have large appetites so wondered if the larger size may be better for us or do you think it may be too big for camping?
Thanks for the tip on the non stick sheet that will be very handy especially when in the tent for cleaning up.
Hope you can all help! Yes, the Remoska, but what about the Bravoska. One is round and the other oval.... Im preferring the Bravoska in theory but even having spent time on the search options here and reading previous debates I have not made a made a decision on which to buy. I'm needing to make my mind up. We are going to have to use the campervan as our kitchen because am having to get indoors kitchen gutted and refitted. Its another must-have reason for a campervan - live in there whilst yer kitchen is trashed and re-built.
So only 2 to 4 people to cook for on the street, what's best?
