The CAB40 cools to 30 degrees below ambient temp, and the CAB40B only cools to 20 degrees below, so on a hot summer's day, the latter may struggle a bit. I've just bought the CAB40 and am really pleased with it.
IIRC the older model (which was blue and they now seem to be badging CAB40B) cooled to 25 degrees below not 20.
We had one and it did OK, it was absolutely fine most of the time in the UK and just about coped in France. If I was buying new I'd stump up the extra for the 75w (30 degree) version unless I was very sure I wouldn't be leaving the UK with it.

The CAB-40B is definitely only 20°C below - see here

That's a different model again to the one we had (which was a couple of years ago), I'm pretty sure that ours was 25 degrees below.
