not sure how bright you want a light, but have you considered a solar powered light? we have recently bought a solar powered shed light from our local tesco, and it does the job of lighting up the awning rather nicely. ok so its not bright enough to read by, but will let you see where the glass is to pour the drink into
was gonna post a link to the tesco one, but it seems they no longer do it, there are quite a few about, but as an example this is the one sold by maplin.
ok i know you asked about wind up lanterns, but this type of set up, will save you winding
