We have one of those great fold-up picnic tables with 4 seats but it would be nice if we could get an umbrella for it as shade from the sun. The problem seems to be how to secure the umbrella to the floor without taking along a 15kg cast-iron base!

Has a company come up with a 'campers solution' to this (such as a spike for the ground which the umbrella pole can slot into) or anything similar? We've only got a small Mini and so light, compact solutions are essential really

Thanks.

Not that compact but you can still get the plastic ones that you fill with water once you are site and they don't cost much

Have just returned from Spain, and while we were there we noticed that EVERYONE takes a parasol to the beach, they fix them in with a spike with a screw on the bottom and a hole in the top.

I thought they were a great idea and cant believe I have never seen them for sale over here.

I bought one to bring back and it cost me 2 euros! I wish I had bought more now!!

It was exactly the same as this:

Have a look at this. Thinks this is what you are looking for and it's not expensive.
