Hi

I am returning to a great camp site that we found, only down side is that its really difficult to peg as the ground is really stoney.  Can anyone suggest if there is a type of peg that I can use that will make pegging a bit less of an ordeal?

Thanks

I love my rock pegs, they saved my relationship, OH is a champion peg bender, it used to drive me mad, then I got rocks and now I can leave him to get on with it.

Those fox bivvy pegs - how do they you think they would hold up to being beaten by a champion peg bender??

I have somthing similar to these Metal Thread Pegs I also have some which don't have the thread (they did not stay in the ground as well when we camped in Wales and the ground was no more than a muddy puddle) I have to say I don't really bother with the pegs that came with my tent most remain unused from when I bought it! I tend to use the Threaded Rocks and metal deltas(for the guy ropes). We use a claw hammer to hammer them in but the wooden mallet works equally well, how ever the claw hammer can remove pegs where as the mallet can't.

Well thats enough from me, I have a feeling I have slightly rambled!

You can get corkscrew type of tent peg cheap and very efective.  We went to a camp site which was all stone and we had to purchase new tent pegs and the corkscrew type from the site shop and they were really cheap, sorry cant remember were we were but try the forestry commision as I sure we were on a forest commision site,

If you want something that is really cheap and good just get some 6 inch nails they are great. We had to buy some when we went on a site at great yarmouth.
