OK, so maybe i'm stupid!!

I have 3 double airbeds all with built in pump.  Have tested them all and they all work, so now got everything and feeling really excited.  Going on first trip for bank holiday weekend.

Anyway, now been told by the friends i'm going with that the campsite does not have electric hook-up.  Now that's OK with me, BUT............

How do I blow my beds up??  There is obviously a way, but I don't know it!!  Do manual pumps fit into the size of the hole in the bed??

One more question while i'm on a role :-) ....... how do you keep milk etc cold and fresh when camping without electric.

(Obviously like my home comforts!)

Thanks in advance

We have a mains pump for when on the electric. When not on the electric we use a 12volt pump , £6.99 from Argos and plugs in to your car cigarette socket.
See Here.

If they are 240v pumps, you could use an inverter and plug them onto the car battery. If they are 12v, then plug them directly onto the car battery.

Manual pumps normally come with a selection of adaptors to fit these things.

If going for a weekend I freeze 2 x 2 litre bottles and just use the coolbox.  If going for a longer period I use a 3 way fridge powered of either camping gaz or EHU.

Many sites will freeze coolbox packs (sometimes for a small fee) and occasionally there is a communal freezer where you can refreeze them yourself

And some sites hire them out with a refundable deposit.

Cheap bags of ice are also an option and if you put alot of salt in with the packs then you can cool things (such as beer lol) very fast.

It is not uncommon to see buckets/ bowls outside tents with cold water chilling beer, wine, milk etc.

Hope this helps

Angie

long life milk? but don't let on,see if they notice any difference if they do just say it's because your outdoors. it's not that bad! hey your a rough tough outdoor type.

ho, and the pump buy one that's twin powered 12v/230v. or get 1 of these handy bits of kit off  flea bay Item number: 260275335496 cause the leads on the 12v are short and blowing up your beds at the side of the car in the rain is a pain in the harris, unless you can get the car in the tent.

who wet the bed!!!
