Hi, we are thinking of taking a George Foreman Grill away with us caravanning, think we would get great use from it and use it regularly, especially if weather forbids us to BBQ, does anyone else take these away and if so do you know the wattage (don't want all the electrics going off) Thanks
we take ours camping with us. use it nearly everyday it was worth every penny. i have 1 for tent and 1 for home. we only had trouble on one site with it. but it was only 10amp site and i had kettle on a same time. also the site electric box was faulty. i was told that after i tripped it. i assumed it was me but its doubtful. but since then, i dont put anything else on to heat up.
same as milly above we always take ours, i`m not sure of the wattage but due to it being a heating element it will be quite high. so i always switch off any other heating equipment before use and never had a problem. if i had to guess i would say it is about 2kw but i could be wrong.
------------- fresh air, lager and no work. who could want more?
If you don't want EHU ( or can't get a pitch with it) they do a gas powered version which is fantastic and I think they are on sale now in curry's. Instead of having a lid that presses down they have a dome, a bit like a barbeque but with the not stick solid cooking surface and they are great as you can cook things like potao waffles etc too x
Bought one for camping this year (Actually Tescos own rather than a George Foreman) Great piece of Kit and would thoroughly reccommend, much easier and cleaner than BBQ's - and you can do toasted sandwiches on them!
Have seen the gas version on e-bay, am thinking would be useful, we already have the electric version, but like the idea of the toaster - not one with our kitchen (gas) -trying to convince myself would be worth it!!
Just to let you know, been out this morning and bought a G.F going away shortly so will take it with us for the first trip out, am already looking forward to having grilled salmon on it.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.

The wattage of the GFs is usually given on the silver sticker under the base of the grill. Mine (a smallish one) is 1600w so would almost certainly trip a 10Amp hookup if used with an electric kettle. The rule of thumb is only one heating applience on at a time.
try the fat grill burner as the picture from fourways leisure group £35.00 if you phone them up there great lightweight and portable even with the carrying bag that comes with them great in the morning for a good fry up.
