Hi, Just back from a week in Cornwall and with the weather being wet and windy most evenings were spent indoors. My wife and I spoke about maybe getting an LCD TV for our next trip, at least the kids will be keep occupied by the TV when they're bored of games.

Does anyone use a TV whilst away and could maybe recommend a good aerial capable of picking up freeview. I have had a look but there are so many to choose from I wouldn't know where to start choosing one.

I have a freeview dongle which plugs in to the laptop so really looking for a decent aerial to use alongside that.

We saw one of these on the site and spoke about it. Not sure if the wife would want one to be honest but I would. I think they're great, but the boss must be obeyed, lol

Depends where you go,on our caravan the status aerial is rubbish but when tent camping we can get an excellent signal with a cheap indoor aerial..I bought a digital aerial from screwfix direct for £10 last year for the caravan and connect via extended pole attached to jocker wheel.Really it depends where you are and how close to a main mast. Some sites have tv hookup.....

I use a Maxim LCD television with a built-in telescopic aerial and the reception is excellent, even at Ravenglass C&CC site which claims to have poor reception.  I have tried an external aerial and the recepion was not as good.

The telescopic aeriel may work alright in a tent but would struggle to get a signal in a caravan.  A correctly set up multi-element aeriel will always give a better signal.

Another recommendation for the satellite dish - the £99 one comes with a Freesat decoder too
