Hi, not sure if anyone can help me. I have a camelback hydration pack which unfortunately accidentally got left with water in it. I have managed to clean the bladder itself but have been unable to shify the black from the pipe. Has anyone got any ideas please? I need it for next weekend cos I'm walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks.

Try some steriliser/cleaner from the home brew shop (that's what I use !)

Make up a strong solution - fill the pipe - leave it overnight - don't forget to rinse thoroughly !!!

Use hot water with Bi-carb soda soak it then flush it through, try to use something to "pull through" the tube(cut down tampon).

Used one in Iraq, they're a pain in the neck and a major cause of D&V.

They make a little brush on a bendy thing to clean the pipes it is part of the maintenance kit you can get for the camel packs.

You feed the bendy wire with the brush through and then back and it cleans out any gungy stuff; i got mine from a specialist mountain outdoor place.
