What lights do you all use when camping? Just bought an EHU and am hoping to camp during Oct half term but will need some decent lighting and I haven't a clue what is best.
Please bear in mind I am almost totally skint after spending so much on camping gear during the last month so anything bargain priced will be a bonus!!

I bought a Gelert rechargeable light and it was pants! . My friend had one of these clip lightand lit her tent up great! Also, if you have a Poundland nearby, invest in some UFO lights, they're great for a quid!!
We started using EHU during our last week away, but we kept to using out UFO lights, one set of batteries last all week, and the light they give off is great. Our local co-op does them for £2.99 at the moment, and I know QD had some in at about £4.99 as well.
If you are using an EHU why not just take a lamp from home or one of those green low wattage bulbs and a bulb holder, low wattage no heat to speak of so no damage to tent material, also gives a very bright light and as you have normally already paid for your electric in advance why bother with rechargeables or battery lamps??
We have two Coleman rechargeable and one Vango rechargeable lamps & both are great. We just recharge them in the day on our EHU whilst we are out. Much much safer to use than gas.
I'm in the same position as fostermum and am tempted to buy a clip-on lampholder, 3m of cable and an energy saving bulb to hang from the ceiling of the tent. Not very pretty but hopefully effective. Something like this - http://www.manchestertools.co.uk/clip-light-p-28329.html
Will have the backup of UFOs + lantern should an EHU not be available. Need to pop into B&Q to see what the Eterna Handylite looks like though.
we use the inspection lamp from the garage in the centre of the tent and a clip on poundland light for the cooking area, both with energy saving bulbs.
12v 8watt flourescent light tubes but with the crocodile clips cut off and cigar lighter plugs fitted instead, then run them both off of a mains 240v to 12v transformer, that way i can run them both off of EHU or a 12v battery if no EHU is available
