Just found this and it looks good, will sit nicely on the table or hang up - might just have to buy it and pop it under the tree for me

I won a wind up torch in a rally raffle and it really is fantastic. Saves the hassle of remembering to take spare batteries or finding the ones in the torch have "died" just when you need to change the gas bottle at night in the rain......................

I have to agree with you there. That was my experience with them too - well we gave up after winding it for the 6th time when out carol singing last year and the light it did give out was useless.

The cheaper ones aren't up to much because they have cheap power packs in them, buy one with a decent battery (amh) and they're fine, plus they get better with use as this conditions the battery.
